Taking place on the 21st of July, the acts made by Anders Behring Breivik left dozens dead as well as many severely injured. It first began with a car bomb explosion that took seven lives in downtown Olso, Norway. Following the explosion, Anders continued to go on a killing spree on the nearby island of Utoya, that was holding an annual summer camp. Police later captured Anders after the devastating attack. The motives of his onslaught were later discovered when his terrorist manifesto was found online. The document shows his ethics as a right wing fundamentalist Christian terrorist. His ideals are based on the ideas of "conserving" Olso from the immigration of Muslim and Islamic populace. His hate of these nationalities most likely come from his beliefs that "Islam(ism) has historically led to 300 million deaths"and that the mass importation of Muslims will destroy Norway's culture. More eerie details have showed up since. He has admitted to more terrorist cells from his organization being at large.
To many, the attacks seem to mirror the ideals of the terrorist group Al-Qaeda, except in the perspective of Christian fundamentalists. It's all part of a world where terrorism is slowly and frighteningly becoming a more often circumstance. From the bombing of the Pam-Am Boeing 747 over Scotland, to the attacks on the World Trade centers on September 11. In a world that uses violence to show their message, more and more lives are being taken. The world that we live in today is slowly having to become more used to the idea of terrorism.
